Tennis: Bisht packs off Prabodh

Second seeded Suraj R. Prabodh from Karnataka was the biggest casualty on a day when several fancied players bit the dust in the AITA Adidas-MCC Junior National tennis championship here Wednesday.

Prabodh went down to 14th seeded Ronit Singh Bisht from Delhi 4-6, 2-6 in the third round of boys singles. Joining him on the sidelines were No.7 Jagbir Singh Saran (Punjab), who lost 2-6, 1-6, to ninth seed Nikshep BR (Karnataka), and fifth seed Anvit Ketan Bendra (Maharashtra) who crashed to a 6-3, 0-6, 3-6, defeat to local player Raswant Ravi.

Also making his exit was third seed Sahil Deshmukh (Maharashtra) as he was beaten 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, by Mukund Sasikumar (Tamil Nadu).
