Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari Friday expressed grief over the death of a 22-year-old acid attack victim.
The victim, who was attacked while she was getting ready for her marriage Dec 7 here, breathed her last at Mumbai's National Burns Centre after battling for life for 20 days.
Tewari demanded that those responsible for the heinous act be tried in a fast track court in a time-bound manner and be handed over exemplary punishment for the brutal crime, an official release said.
It was unfortunate that the young victim could not survive, he said adding as a parent himself he could feel the trauma and pain of the loss of a daughter.
