Solo performances including renditions of Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan's immortal numbers, drama acts, comedy and contemporary dance at a solo theatre fest here are luring audiences to try something different.
Monologues 2014, organised by Phreedom4ever showcases solo acts by veteran artists as well as a special segment titled "Solo Room" dedicated to the youth.
The fest that began last week brings on Aug 9 an original dramatic act by Soumya Mukherjee who is the founder of a popular youth theatre outfit in Kolkata.
This will be followed by a round of retro music albeit in the solo mode by singer Kabir Chattopadhyay.
A solo comic act by media personality Anubhav Pal ushers in the finale Aug 10 at the Tollygunje Club. Next up is a dance performance by contemporary danseuse Paramita Saha.
This will be topped off by the premiere of a new play by theatre personality Usha Ganguly.
