Three army soldiers were killed and as many injured in a suicide car explosion that targeted an army checkpoint in Lebanon Saturday, local media reported.

A suicide bomber exploded the car in front of an army checkpoint on the outskirts of the eastern Bekaa town of Arsal near the border with Syria, Xinhua reported quoted the LBC TV.

An Al Qaeda-linked group "The Free Sunnis of Baalbeck" claimed responsibility for the attack on Twitter, saying it is "in revenge for the killing of Sami al-Atrash," who was killed by the Lebanese army when an intelligence unit raided his house in Arsal Thursday.
