"The Dark Knight Rises" star Tom Hardy has hinted that he may be starring in three more "Mad Max" films, following "Mad Max: Fury Road," which is set to release on May 15.
Hardy disclosed this during a discussion of his role in the fourth "Mad Max" film with Esquire magazine, reports variety.com.
"I've never been more excited and out of my comfort zone," the magazine quoted Hardy as saying. It said he's attached to a further three "Mad Max" films.
He said: "Everything's based on figures and how things are perceived. Inevitably it's a business."
Warner Bros had no comment. The interest in the film peaked this week with the news that the studio is planning to release the trailer for 2016 "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" with "Mad Max: Fury Road".
Hardy takes over Mel Gibson's role as Max Rockatansky, and Charlize Theron plays Furiosa in the film, set in a post-apocalyptic, ultra-violent Australian Outback.
The film serves as a sequel to the Gibson-George Miller trilogy of "Mad Max", "The Road Warrior" and "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome".
Meanwhile, Hardy is currently filming Western drama "The Revenant" with Leonardo DiCaprio and "Birdman" director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
