Tom Hiddleston avoids social media

Actor Tom Hiddleston says he tries to avoid social media because he believes it gives a very distorted reflection of the society.

The 32-year-old actor believes that the social networking websites do not give him a true idea of his fans, reports contactmusic.com.

"I try to stay away from it to be honest because I think it becomes a distorted reflection. The enthusiasm I find is quite belying and it's just gratifying that there are people out there who are just interested in the work, performances and characters," Hiddleston said.

However, he believes it is important to respect his fans because without them he would be in no position to be referred to as an actor.

"I always think an actor can't call themselves an actor without an audience, so if the audience is there then that's great," he said.
