Toyota Kirloskar Motors on Thursday said its domestic car sales declined by nine percent in September compared to the same month last year.
The firm, whose popular models include the Etios, Fortuner and Innova, sold 11,401 units in the domestic market in September 2015 compared to 12,542 units in September 2014.
Exports also declined at 1,252 units against 1,502 units exported in September 2015.
"We are hopeful that with the recent repo rate cut and the approaching festive season, we will soon see a boost in sales in the upcoming months," said Toyota Kirloskar Motors' director and senior vice president, sales and marketing, N. Raja.
Toyota Kirloskar Motors has two manufacturing plants with a total installed production capacity of 3,10,000 units.
