At least 25 train services suffered a setback when the overhead electric line on the rail track developed a snag between Sahibabad and Ghaziabad halting train movement on Thursday.
Important trains on the Delhi-Howrah rail route like the Kanpur Shatabdi, Dehradun Shatabdi, Puri Express, Kalka Express and a number of other passenger and goods trains suffered delays of two-to-three hours in their scheduled journey.
"Normal movement of trains was restored within two hours and an inquiry has been ordered to find out what exactly happened in the overhead line," said Divisional Traffic Manager D.K. Chopra.
