Targetting the BJP, Trinamool Congress termed arrest of party MP Tapas Paul's arrest in connection with the Rose Valley chit fund scam a "political atrocity" as the party has been vehemently opposing demonetisation.
"What's going on? Who gave license to Rose Valley TV? Centre or State ? Channel on still on air. Central Govt, please answer. What about BJP MP & Union Minister who performed for Rose Valley & was associated with them ? Are you arresting him tonight or tmrw?
"So now political attrocities against those opposed to #NoteBandi and with the movement. We will fight it out. Many film stars directors,sports persons r brand ambassadors. So what next? Those from BIP who are brand ambassadors will also be? Right?," Trinamool MP Derek O'Brien said in a series of tweets.
Paul was interrogated by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday and was later arrested.
