US President Donald Trump will be able to use his Twitter account during his upcoming official visit to China, where the social network is blocked due to censorship, a senior Chinese government official said on Friday.
Trump, whose fondness for tweeting has led to his involvement in many controversies, is expected to arrive in Beijing next week on Wednesday and is scheduled to leave early on Friday, Efe news reported.
"About how President Trump communicates around the world, it is something you don't need to worry about," said China's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Zheng Zeguang.
Very considerate preparations have been made for Trump and his wife Melania to offer them warm hospitality in Beijing, he added.
However, Twitter, as well as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google and many other social networks or Internet pages are blocked in China.
But Chinese authorities are eager to offer Trump the same warm and friendly hospitality that the White House offered to President Xi Jinping and his wife during their stay in Mar-a-lago (Florida) in April on the occasion of the first bilateral meeting between the two Presidents, the report said.
