Two troopers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed when the vehicle that they were travelling in skidded on the highway near Sonipat in Haryana, police said.
Three other CRPF personnel were injured in the accident near Murthal in the district. They were taken to a nearby hospital.
The troopers were escorting former MP M.A. Madani from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur.
Police officials said that the vehicle carrying the security personnel skidded due to potatoes, which spilled from an overturned lorry, lying on the Delhi-Panipat highway, 200 km from here.
