Two persons from West Bengal and Bihar were killed on Wednesday when a mini truck headed to Delhi with meat rammed into a stationary truck on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, police said.
A third person was critically injured in the accident which caused a huge traffic jam for hours as the meat spilled on to the road.
Police said the incident took place on IFFCO Chowk flyover when the Tata 407 mini truck travelling towards Delhi collided with a truck parked by the roadside due to a flat tyre.
The two dead were identified as Shahadat (22), from Malda district in West Bengal, and Shahnawaz (24) from Bihar's Madhubani district.
The critically injured was identified as Ayyaz (23), also from Malda.
Police officer Shastra Kumar told IANS: "The meat in the mini truck was mutton."
The bodies of the victims were handed over to relatives after post-mortem examination.
