At least two soldiers were killed and four others were wounded in separate attacks staged by rebels in the Philippines, military authorities said Saturday.
A group of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) attacked a military post late Friday in Maguindanao province.
The incident left a soldier dead and another wounded.
Captain Joan Petinglay, spokesperson for the Army's 6th Division, said earlier on the same day that suspected members of BIFF also attacked two military outposts in nearby Sultan Kudarat province. The attacks, according to Petinglay, left one soldier dead and three wounded.
The 400-strong BIFF is composed of former leaders and members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). The MILF signed a peace agreement with the Philippines government in March.
