State owned lender UCO Bank on Saturday said its net profit for the quarter ended September 30 this year rose by 50 percent at Rs. 156 crore as against Rs.105 crore registered during the corresponding quarter of 2014.
The bank's total income during the second quarter stood at Rs.5,308 crore as against Rs.5,257 crore in the similar timeframe last year and its net interest income during July-September this year stood at Rs.1,416 crore as against Rs.1,383 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.
As on September 30, the bank's gross NPA ratio stood at 8.51 percent at Rs. 12,227 crore while the net NPA ratio stood at 5.15 percent at Rs.7,123 crore.
"We have been focussing on the small-medium and the rural segment and have curtailed large corporate advances," bank's managing director and CEO, R.K. Takkar told media persons here while announcing the financial results.
The bank has a network of 3,036 branches and 2,250 ATMs.
