Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik on Monday gave his consent to five bills, sent to him for assent after their passage in the legislature, an official release said.
The Bills that have been approved are the UP Secondary Education Selection Board (Amendment) Bill 2016, the Uttar Pradesh Education Services Commission (Amendment) Bill 2016, the Uttar Pradesh Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Amendment) Bill 2016, Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development (Amendment) Bill 2016 and Uttar Pradesh Loktantra Senani Samman Bill 2016, said a Raj Bhavan statement.
These bills had been passed in the assembly on March 8, ratified by the legislative council on March 9 and forwarded to the Raj Bhavan for governor's consent, under the constitution's Article 200, on March 15.
There has been tension in the past over some Bills being held back by the Raj Bhavan, leading to an acrimonious attack by state ministers, specially Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mohd Azam Khan on Naik.
