Body of 22-year-old Adeeba Shahid, daughter of Uttar Pradesh's labour and employment minister Shahid Manzoor, has not been recovered yet from the Ganga river where she drowned on Sunday, police said.
She was on a camping trip with ten of her friends when, while getting herself clicked on top of a rock, she slipped and fell into the river.
The river's current washed her away even as two of her friends dived into the river to save her.
The minister, who rushed to the mishap scene late on Sunday and was present all through the rescue operations, is still hoping against hope, a close aide told IANS.
Police, however, said chances of Adeeba's survival were bleak.
The victim was a first year student of Master of Surgery (MS) at the Dehradun campus of Subharti Medical College, Meerut.
