A control room to help the families of those stranded in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir was Thursday set up in the Uttar Pradesh capital here.
The 24x7 helpline was established after instructions from Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, an official said.
More than 5,000 people from the state are reported to be stranded in Jammu and Kashmir.
The control room phone number is 0522-2237515 and fax numbers are 0522-2238084, 2236305.
Many district magistrates have been flooded with requests from distraught families to get some information about their loved ones.
A financial assistance of Rs.20 crore for Jammu and Kashmir has already been announced by Akhilesh Yadav.
