Urban development ministry gets Rs.17,228 crore

Finance Minister P. Chidambaram Monday allocated Rs.17,228 crore to the urban development ministry in the interim budget for 2014-15.

In 2013-14, a sum of Rs.7,548 crore was sanctioned.

Of the total amount, Rs.7,036 crore has been marked for the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission scheme.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has got Rs.1,723 crore.
