Vanquished Congress will split after polls: Ramdev

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev Thursday predicted the Congress would split after a humiliating defeat in the forthcoming Lok Sabha (LS) elections.

Talking to reporters in the state capital, Ramdev said the tally of the ruling party would fall under 100.

"The Congress is on its death bed," he said, and predicted a handsome win for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance -- the combine would corner 300 seats across the country.

Lamenting that people of the country had lost faith in politicians, Ramdev said Gujarat Chief Minister and the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has emerged a beacon of hope for the people.

"Modiji has a good track record of governance and proved that under him people can prosper and dream of a better future," he added.

On the Muzaffarnagar communal clashes, Ramdev said incidences of violence were tragic and urged the state government to take action against the guilty.
