Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Giriraj Kishore, one of the key members of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, died here Sunday, a VHP leader said. He was 95.
One of the seniormost 'pracharaks' of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Kishore was ill for some time.
"He died at 9.25 p.m. at the VHP headquarters. He was ill for some time but remained actively involved in the affairs of the organisation till his last day," VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal told IANS.
"He was one of the pioneers of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement," he said.
A bachelor, Kishore donated his body for social causes.
His body will be kept at the RSS headquarters in R.K. Puram for people to pay their last respects, Bansal added.
