In a bid to sensitise people about wildlife protection, a photography exhibition was inaugurated on Monday at the Sultanpur National Park near here by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Organised by the DLF Foundation in collaboration with the Haryana Forest Department, the exhibition showcased major local and migratory water birds found in the park.

The Haryana government is observing a Wildlife Week at the park, which is about 50 km from national capital Delhi.

Over 100 birds are featured in photographs taken by 70 wildlife photographers such as Rajbir Singh and Nikhil Kumar.

Khattar also honoured dignitaries who have proactively contributed to wildlife conservation, including Aakash Ohri, Senior Executive Director of DLF Ltd.

Under Ohri's leadership, DLF has successfully relocated over 250 mature trees in DLF-5 area in Gurugram.

Forests and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh and Minister of State for Forests and Wildlife Karan Dev Kamboj were present on the occasion.

Vinay Sahni, CEO, DLF Foundation, said: "The photo exhibition is first of its kind in Haryana which features major water birds, both migratory and local, found in Sultanpur National Park."
