Mumbai, April 20 (IANS) Actor Emraan Hashmi, who features alongside three actresses -Huma Qureshi, Konkona Sensharma and Kalki Koechlin - in supernatural thriller "Ek Thi Daayan", says he will be happy if audiences appreciate the performances of the ladies.
"Ek Thi Daayan", a Vishal Bhardwaj and Ekta Kapoor's co-production is the story about a magician and a witch. Emraan plays the magician.
"I will be very happy if all the three women get their due in the film. They are better than me. I will be more than happy," the 34 year-old said here Friday at an event.
On being asked if he feels he is competing with the three actresses in the film, and if he fears being overshadowed by them, Emraan said: "You never compete with the people in your crew, you have your own team.
"Competition is only with those people, whose film is releasing alongside on Friday and never with one's own team." added the actor, who has been a part of films like "Jannat 2", "Murder 2", "The Dirty Picture" and "Raaz 3".
Directed by Kannan Iyer, "Ek Thi Daayan" released Friday.
The film has been lapped up by the audience and Emraan is happy about it.
"There have been many screenings (of 'Ek Thi Daayan') since the last two days. And as an actor, we lose the objectivity a little as our love is attached with the film. But when we get the same response from others, it's exciting," Emraan said.
"So we are very excited. People are saying that this ('Ek Thi Daayan') is the best horror film of our country. So, I am really excited to see their reaction towards the weekend," he added.
