Legendary batsman Garfield Sobers is among a group of former West Indies cricketers who will participate in two Twenty20 cricket matches here.
Some of the legends who are joining Sobers to play the matches include former openers Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes, Carl Hooper, Courtney Walsh, Richie Richardson, Gus Logie, Deryck Murray, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Darren Ganga, reported CMC.
The greats will play two matches against a New York All-Star XI at Idlewild Park in Queens.
Greenidge has teamed up with promoter Pooran Ramnanan to bring the legends to New York.
Ramnanan said the legends were also expected to participate in a coaching exercise with young players from New York Public Schools Athletic League.
