Three men were arrested Wednesday for allegedly gang-raping a woman two days ago in Bhadrak district of Odisha, police said.
The incident occurred Monday evening near the district headquarters town of Bhadrak but came to light only after the victim lodged a complaint with the police a day later.
Five persons intercepted the woman and her husband at a secluded place when they were on their way to a local hospital on a bike, police said.
They severely beat up her husband. Three of the accused raped the woman while the other two helped them in the crime.
The accused also robbed her of jewellery before fleeing the area, police said adding that efforts were on to nab the remaining two accused.
