A woman in Odisha killed her two minor sons before hanging herself to death after a quarrel with her husband over some trivial matter, police said Friday.
The incident took place Wednesday at Raipanka village in Gajapati district, about 300 km from state capital Bhubaneswar. But it came to light after a family member informed the police a day later.
Jhumuri Patra, 30, was suffering from a mental illness and used to have heated arguments with her husband over domestic matters, police official Onam Lakra told IANS.
She strangulated her sons, three-year-old Smbit and one-year-old Sai, before hanging herself from the roof of the house.
Police said her husband and other family members were not at home when the incident happened.
