"Divergent" actress Shailene Woodley feels affected by people's ignorance about earth, and says that a change in attitude is required for the betterment of the planet.
The 23-year-old, who will be seen in the futuristic movie, said she wants to contribute to the cause.
"My biggest fear is that people aren't going to realise in time that we are nature, and that we need to think about that fact and respect it. People talk about global warming, the oceans, and the rainforest, and we need to be talking about it, but nothing's going to change unless we change ourselves," Woodley said in a statement.
In "Divergent", she plays Beatrice 'Tris' Prior, the film's protagonist.
Directed by Neil Burger, "Divergent" will release in India April 11.
