The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Thursday began work on the metro line between INA and South Extension in south Delhi.
It will be part of the Mukundpur-Shiv Vihar metro corridor, said a Delhi Metro official.
The tunneling has started and the drive will cover a distance of 924 meters and will be part of the Bhikaji Cama Place-Lajpat Nagar underground section.
Two tunnel boring machines are being used at the site.
The 53-km-long stretch from Mukundpur in north Delhi to Shiv Vihar in west Delhi is a part of the Phase III metro corridor.
