The bullet-riddled body of a young lawyer, who was also a former national-level shooter, was found from a park here, city police officials said on Monday.
The lawyer was identified as Sukhmanpreet Singh Sidhu, 34 years old and a resident of neighbouring Mohali town in Punjab.
The body was found in a Sector 27 park late Sunday night and Chandigarh Police have launched an investigation.
Sukhmanpreet, alias Sippy, was the grandson of a former judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. His father is an additional advocate general in Punjab.
"The body had two bullet marks, one each on chest and neck. We are working on various leads, including the records of his mobile phone," said a police official.
The lawyer was spotted by some passersby who informed police. He was taken to a government hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The lawyer's car was found parked about 200 metres away.
