Vishwambhar Srivastava, Bharatiya Janata Party veteran L K Advani's assistant for over three decades, has written a book on his years with the leader.

Titled Advani ke Saath 32 Saal (32 years with Advani), it is full of anecdotes, including how the leader disallowed his son Jayant to contest a Lok Sabha election from Gandhinagar in 1989. The book, slated to be released today, is published by Anil Prakashan. On Thursday, Advani distanced himself from the book.

"This book does not have the consent of L K Advani and has been published against his wishes," the leader's secretary, Deepak Chopra, said in a statement.
