Campaigning takes an IPL break

It seems even the leaders took time off their hectic campaigning schedule to join the euphoria over the Indian Premier League (IPL). At least this was the impression journalists, who had gone to cover the scheduled briefing at the BJP headquarters on Saturday, the opening day of IPL, got. BJP spokesperson SS Ahluwalia, who was to speak to them, however, was busy watching on television the inaugural match of the IPL at Cape Town, South Africa. The party officials had no choice but to apologise to the waiting scribes before calling off the event.
