Earlier this week, Power, Coal and Mines Minister Piyush Goyal held an “informal” media meet at an outlet of coffee chain Cafe Coffee Day. Usually, most informal meetings by ministers are held in their offices. Some reasoned that the venue was chosen keeping in mind the entry of former Congress hand S M Krishna into the Bharatiya Janata Party. The founder and owner of Cafe Coffee Day’s parent company, Coffee Day Enterprises, V G Siddhartha, is married to the daughter of Krishna, a former chief minister of Karnataka.
