Letters: Rahul still a novice

Don't want to miss the best from Business Standard?

With reference to Amit Agnihotri's report, "Rahul attacks PM Modi over surgical strikes" (October 7), I feel ashamed to hear the Congress Vice-President dubbing the bravery of our army men "Khoon ki holi".

Earlier, Maharashtra Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam had termed the Indian Army's surgical strikes to demolish terror camps in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir as fake.

Such remarks should be treated with the contempt they deserve. Gandhi (pictured) has not matured at all. If his remarks during the electoral campaign in Uttar Pradesh are any indication, he's still a political novice. He appeared confused and at a loss for words to express himself.

While Gandhi could seek solace from the fact that he no longer reads from a written text of his speech, the contents are still out of sync and solely directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It's unbelievable the Congress has not been able to find a suitable replacement, even as Gandhi continues to be a "non-performing asset". It wouldn't be a surprise if it became a regional party soon.
