Social media was abuzz with welcome-back posts as Maggi noodles returned to stores on Monday, five months after the popular snack was banned for containing higher than permissible levels of lead. In the run-up to the ban, several Twitter users had joked about the allegations made by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India regarding the presence of MSG (monosodium glutamate) in Maggi by making references to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's movie MSG: The Messenger of God. On Monday, Twitter was full of messages such as "Mere paas Maggi hai" - a play on Amitabh Bachchan's famous dialogue, "Mere paas maa hai" from the 1973 blockbluster Deewar - and "Our solution to pollution: this Diwali light your stove, not crackers". Announcing Maggi's comeback, Nestle India Chairman and Managing Director Suresh Narayanan said, "This Diwali, munh Maggi kijiye."
