Staying relevant

Speaking on the issue of skill-building for insurance agents at a recent conference, Alice Vaidyan, chairman and managing director of General Insurance Corporation of India, recalled a classic Woody Allen quote: "There are worse things in life than death. Have you ever spent an evening with an insurance salesman?" Hopefully, her audience didn't miss the emphasis on retooling of insurance salespeople so that they stay relevant.
