If you find yourself struggling to recollect the previous purchase you made or the balance in your bank account, use apps that track them. And, there are several which track your expenses and investments by reading the SMSes sent by your bank or ATM transactions. There are options to link more than one bank account and credit card to these apps. Recently, Edelweiss Financial Services launched a Wealth Pack app. Aditya Birla Money already has an expense tracker app called My Universe

EDELWEISS WEALTH PACK
  • Choose Gmail or any other e-mail id to log in by agreeing to the terms and conditions.
  • On logging in, you will get a snapshot of your account balance, expenses and on what you have spent.
  • Expenses can be listed by date or by category, in ascending or descending order.
  • Categories to choose from include, apparel and accessories, personal and entertainment, household, health care, miscellaneous, multi-brand retail, fund transfers, wallets and payments, mutual funds, equities, etc.
  • Expenses can be segregated according to credit, debit cards or net banking payment.
  • Break-up of the share of each of the expenses category and sub-category. Bills yet to be paid are also visible. Alert on upcoming payments.
  • Option to set a PIN number.
ADITYA BIRLA MY UNIVERSE
  • Use your banking user ID and password to log in. Add multiple bank accounts after verification from your banks. E-mail verification that your account has been added/not added.
  • Security is not an issue, as app is not open for review to anybody except user. Option to log out is available.
  • Options after logging in include banking, investments, credit card, expense analysis, watch list, etc.
  • Expense analysis option shows the percentage spent on travel, clothes, shoes, etc, based on the transactions from your bank account and credit card. Option to take a picture of a bill and tag for cash expenses for future expenses.
  • Invest in mutual funds through ZipSip. Request for advice on which funds to invest in. Analysis on what kind of an investor you are is mailed to you immediately if you answer a few basic questions.
WALNUT
  • Give your name and mobile number for verification code. The app does not require any bank password or PIN to log in.
  • See your expenses and credit card dues on a daily, weekly or monthly basis in a graphical format.
  • Option to set a budget, which can be done on the basis of your income or you can set a budget on your own. Get a comparison of your expenses budget and income.
  • Set reminders for pending bills. Create, add and delete expense categories like bills, equated monthly installment, entertainment, food and drinks, fuel, etc.
  • Option to create a group of friends and share expenses. Split chat with your friends, split and settle bills.
  • An option that allows you to send money to your friends and pay your credit card bills within seconds with any debit card.
  • Save debit card or bank account details, which will help make payment faster.
