There is renewed speculation on a likely Cabinet reshuffle on Monday. Mahant Adityanath could be made a minister, along with Anupriya Patel of Apna Dal; between five and 10 people could be added to the council of ministers. Immediately after, the appointment of a full-time governor for Punjab is likely. Currently, Kaptan Singh Solanki is governor for both Punjab and Haryana, which is problematic as both states have several disputes with each other.

The Supreme Court will on Monday hear a plea from the city government in Delhi seeking a direction from the apex court to the high court on the scope of its powers.

The Aam Aadmi Party government says it is unable to function, as most of its decisions are either annulled or changed by the Centre, at the behest of the lieutenant governor.

PM to leave on a 4-nation tour this week
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for a four-nation Africa tour on Thursday. He will travel to Tanzania, South Africa, Kenya and Mozambique, for discussions on strategic issues, trade and interaction with the Indian diaspora. Africa has a long coastline which is vulnerable to global threats such as piracy, and the Indian Navy has played a significant role on the east coast of Africa in guarding the trade routes and the coast. Food security is a common concern. India, the biggest producer of foodgrain and horticulture, could help the African continent develop its agriculture sector. Several private sector infrastructure companies, including in the power sector, will travel with the PM.
