CBI files closure report in electricity scam against Koda

The CBI had yesterday filed the closure report in the court of special CBI judge in Ranchi for lack of evidence

The CBI has filed a closure report in the alleged Rs 500 crore rural electrification scam in Jharkhand citing lack of evidence against former chief minister Madhu Koda and other accused.

"A CBI team from Delhi has filed a closure report," said an official with the central investigating agency.

The CBI yesterday filed the closure report in the court of special CBI judge in Ranchi for lack of evidence against Koda and others, Koda's advocate Biswajit Mukherjee told reporters here.

The Jharkhand High Court had on July 30 granted bail to Koda in the case.

Koda had been in judicial custody from November 30, 2009 and was releasedd in August this year after he got bail in all the corruption cases filed by the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax department.
