The region has been witnessing widespread protests by people, including those in the power sector who have gone on strike. YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy and Telugu Desam Party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu have gone on fast over the decision.
Singh said "unnecessary hardships" are being created for the people of Seemandhra due to these protests. "The Government of India and the Congress party are committed to ensure best possible package for the region and also full protection to Seemandhra settlers in Hyderabad," he said.
He urged the representatives and employees of the region to come back to work and draw their salary.
"I think they are unnecessarily causing hardships to the people of Seemandhra. For the last 65 days, the employees of Seemandhra have not received their salary. Private buses are fleecing the people," he said.
"This is not in the interest of Seemandhra people. Now power sector employees have gone on strike. This is causing immense hardships for the people of Seemandhra," Singh said.
Naidu, who is on hunger strike here to protest splitting of Andhra Pradesh, has demanded an all-party meeting to discuss creation of Telangana state and convening of the Joint Action Committees of Telangana and Seemandhra regions to find an amicable solution.
