The parliament logjam over demonetisation continued on Friday with Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi accusing the government of not allowing him to speak in Lok Sabha. 

Rahul Gandhi, who participated in a united Opposition protest outside parliament house to mark one month of note ban, again targeted PM Modi, saying if I speak, there will be an earthquake.

He lashed out at the government saying, "Since a month we've been trying debate on Demonetisation. We want the truth to be revealed to the people".

Calling demonetisation of old higher currency notes, India's biggest scam, Rahul said that he wants to speak in the Parliament.

Training his guns at PM Modi, he said, "the prime minister is travelling about addressing the nation, but, he is afraid of facing the Parliament."

Even as President Pranab Mukherjee called for the Opposition and the government to allow the Houses to function, after almost a month's paralysis, the Lok Sabha was on Friday adjourned amidst Opposition protests.

President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday said the House is not a place for dharna and disruption which amounts to "gagging of majority" by the minority.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, blamed the centre for the parliament deadlock but said his party could consider reaching a "middle ground if the government made a concrete proposal."

"The government is not interested in running parliament? it provokes the Opposition," said Azad.

Saying that the government's efforts to end the logjam in Parliament had gone in vain, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Thursday blamed the Opposition's "anti-democratic attitude" for the deadlock.
