"Both AIADMK and DMK don't work without commissions," he said.
Replying to recent allegation made by Tamil Nadu electricity minister that Centre's UDAY scheme will benefit only private companies and banks, Javadekar said Uday will remove electricity theft.
Eighteen states including non-BJP ruled ones have joined the scheme as they have realised it will benefit the consumers.
According to him, around Rs 1.80 lakh crore will be saved through this scheme and it will bring a number of discoms out of the red, including in Tamil Nadu. The minister said Tamil Nadu discom reported around Rs 12,000 crore loss last year.
"The scheme will ensure turnaround, improve efficiency and will control loss and ensure quality power supply to common people," said Javadekar. He hoped that Tamil Nadu will relalise this someday and will join the scheme.
Javadekar also said except for Tamil Nadu all the other five states have submitted their report on Western Ghats. They include Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharastra and Goa. "For the last one year, we are asking them (Tamil Nadu government), but they have not submitted, now they have asked time till May."
Similarly, he pulled up Tamil Nadu for not joining Centre's UJALA scheme, which was to supply LED bulbs at affordable cost. The Minister said around nine crore people have benefited through this scheme, but Tamil Nadu is not interested.
Javadekar said the Modi-led government doesn't discriminate and it believes in co-operatrive federalism. He also denied the charge that his ministry is not giving clearance to projects, including power projects in Tamil Nadu. "Not a single case of dully completed file is pending at my side for more than three months."
His response adds to the war of words between AIADMK and BJP leaders ahead of state assembly election.
Two days ago, Tamil Nadu's power minister said the Centre's UDAY scheme will not benefit the common people, but it is to cheat the common people and the actual beneficiaries would be private companies and banks.
Last week Union power minister Piyush Goyal and BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan commented that Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa remained inaccessible and the state was not concerned about fishermen.
Goyal last week while addressing a youth conference in New Delhi alleged that there was lack of response from the Tamil Nadu government and he could not reach out to Jayalalithaa, despite making futile attempts with the leaders.
Goyal said he made several attempts to contact ministers in the Jayalalithaa government. He was quoted as saying he had access to 28 states "but for the 29th state, when I want to talk to someone, I can't. I call up and talk to the power minister and he says he will get back to me after he speaks with Amma." He had also criticised the AIADMK parliamentarians for their servility to the leader.
The AIADMK leaders have hit back on the BJP leaders.
