Earlier, senior BJP leaders, including Venkaiah Naidu and newly elected legislators, called on the governor and apprised him of the party's decision that Khattar has been elected as the leader of the legislative party. They have also handed a written request to the governor to invite Khattar to form the government. After consulting the BJP legislature, the governor announced that the swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister will be held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula, at 11 am on Sunday.
Khattar will be the 20th chief minister of Haryana.
