Azad, a former cricket player, has ignored requests and warnings from his party leadership to not go ahead with his press conference where he is likely to target Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for the corruption that allegedly took place during his 13-year tenure as the chief of the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA). The Finance Minister had refuted the allegations when these were leveled by the Aam Aadmi Party earlier this week.
Even on Twitter, Azad continued to target the Finance Minister. To Jaitley's description of him as a 'Trojan Horse', Azad said he was instead the Achilles' Heel and "wait till I unmask the 'behroopiya' (impostor)," Azad said.
BJP President Amit Shah had called on Azad on Friday evening, while other leaders have also tried to impress upon him to not go ahead with his press conference. The press conference is at 4pm at the Press Club of India in New Delhi.
