Savitri Jindal, the Chairperson Emeritus of the OP Jindal Group, was today inducted as cabinet minister in the Haryana government.
She took the oath as minister from the Governor of Haryana Jagannath Pahadia in the presence of the state Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and other ministers of the Haryana cabinet.
This will be the second time she will serve as a minister in the Haryana Cabinet. In the previous cabinet, she had served as the Minister of State for Revenue and Disaster Management, Consolidation, Rehabilitation and Housing and also the Minster of State for Urban Local Bodies and Housing.
She was elected for the second time as MLA from Hissar in 2009. She had been elected for the first time in 2005.
She is the wife of Jindal Group founder - O P Jindal.
