The poll forecasts 37 seats to BJP, 26 to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and seven to Congress. The majority mark in the 70 member Assembly is 36.
An AC Nielsen-ABP News poll claimed AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal continued to be the most popular choice for chief minister with 47 per cent of respondents to its ‘snap poll’ preferring him, against 44 per cent for BJP’s Kiran Bedi and only seven per cent for Congress’ Ajay Maken. According to the poll, AAP and BJP are headed for a photo-finish, with 46 per cent of respondents stating they will vote for AAP, followed by 45 per cent for BJP, eight er cent for Congress and one per cent to ‘others’.
An opinion poll by ABP News-Nielsen conducted last week had predicted a hung assembly with BJP winning 34 seats, AAP 28 and Congress eight. That poll was carried out before Bedi joined the BJP.
