Asked if they have submitted accounts as sought by the CBI, he said, "(We have given) whatever they have asked for". The Special Crime Branch of CBI probing the Saradha ponzi scam had on April 6 re-sent a notice to TMC all-India General Secretary seeking details of the party's accounts.
A CBI source had said that the notice had been sent to Subrata Bakshi who is now holding the post. The agency had asked details of sources of income of the party for 2010-2013 period and also the expenditure pattern. The party was given a week's time to respond to the notice.
In an apparent reference to the CBI's notice asking for the account details, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee had attacked the Modi government yesterday, saying, "If you want my party's account, go and take it from income tax. Instead of that you are sending me notice." "Notices will pile up and we will send them back to you. You have come to power and are sending me notices. Tomorrow you will not be in power. The people will send you notice," Banerjee had said.
