Appointment of Mr. Laurent Bruyere as Managing Director for Otis India

Otis, the world's leading manufacturer, installer and maintainer of elevators, escalators and moving walkways, has appointed Mr. Laurent Bruyère as its Managing Director of Otis India.

Laurent has a vast and rich experience in the elevator industry. As Managing Director for Otis India, Laurent will provide overall leadership and strategic direction including focus on establishing joint ventures and developing innovative products that cater to elevator needs for new developments in the real estate market.

“With its accelerating economy and emerging markets, India represents tremendous growth opportunities for Otis. With an aim to be leaders in India as we are worldwide we have split our operational activities into two verticals concentrating on the growth of the construction market and the After-Sales business. We are also developing our capabilities in the Manufacturing area. A new and experienced managing team will drive these developments across India in the coming months.” said Mr. Laurent Bruyère as the new Managing Director, Otis India.

Laurent began his career with the Otis Elevator Company in 1985 with Otis France. He grew to become the Regional General Manager of Western France in 2001. In 2005, he was named as Regional Director of Otis Switzerland and in 2006 he was promoted to Managing Director for Otis Switzerland.  He later joined Otis India in February 2010 as Managing Director for heading its operations that included New Equipment, Modernisation, Service and Manufacturing functions. 

Laurent holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Ecole d’Ingenieur de l’Innovation de l’Energie et des Technologies Avancees {ESME-Sudria} in Paris.
