Dhanus launching passenger info system for Kerala

March 31, 2008, Cochin: Dhanus [BSE Scrip Code: 532903], one of India's fastest growing Alternative Telecommunications Service provider has entered into an exclusive MOU with The Kerala State Private Bus Operators Federation to launch the first of its kind initiative of installing passenger information systems in all private buses across Kerala along with its consortium partners, Sobha AppliedDSP, Chennai and Kiran Technologies, Cochin.
 
 
As per the exclusive MOU, Dhanus will provide FleeTrac™ services in over 20,000 private buses in Kerala. With this initiative, the transport owners in Kerala will bring delight to their passengers by providing instant information on location, arrival & departure timing and proposed arrival time of the destination of every individual bus via Internet and SMS.
 
 
Mr. Mons Joseph, Honorable Minister of Public Works Department inaugurated the service. Also present at the inauguration, were Mr. Mohammed Haneesh, IAS, District Collector, Ernakulam, Mr. Manoj Abraham, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Kochi, Mr. A. K. Abdulla, President KSPBOF, Mr.Lawrence Babu, General Secretary, Mr. A.D. Sudhindra, Executive Chairman, Dhanus Technologies, Mr. R. Ramakrishnan, Director, Shoba Applied DSP and Mr. Ranjith, Managing Partner, Kiran Technologies, amongst others.
 
 
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. A. D. Sudhindra, Executive Chairman, Dhanus Technologies Ltd., said, "We are extremely excited to announce this partnership with The Kerala State Private Bus Operators Federation. Private bus operators own close to 85% of the bus services in the state. This initiative, will ensure that, both the regular passengers and the millions of tourists who visit the state every year, have accurate bus schedule information on, literally, their finger tips. This will help them save enormous amount of time spent waiting for buses and make their journey carefree, helping them to relax and enjoy 'Gods own Country's scenic beauty."

The initiative will also provide a new avenue for the advertisers to reach their target customers through static and dynamic advertising content; including audio visual elements which will be displayed in the buses.
