Genesys International's Sajid Malik wins Businessman of the Year Award

• The award was conferred at the Indian Geospatial Awards 2009 held at New Delhi

• The award recognizes Mr Malik’s outstanding and sustained contribution to his organization and the geospatial industry at large

Genesys International Corporation, a leading player in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and digital map content celebrated as its Chairman & Managing Director, Sajid Malik won the Businessman of the Year award at the Indian Geospatial Awards 2009 organized by Geospatial Today, a premier geospatial technology magazine, to recognize companies for their outstanding contribution to the geospatial industry.

Mr Sajid Malik was awarded the distinction today by Dr Shailesh Nayak, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, for his inspiring leadership, personal qualities, managerial skill, creative business initiatives and overall achievement of strong corporate performance in terms of revenue, profits and expansion. The Businessman of the Year award appreciates and formally recognizes Mr Malik’s outstanding and sustained contribution to his organization, Genesys International Corporation Ltd and to the geospatial industry at large.

Last year, this award was presented to Rajendra S Pawar, Chairman, NIIT by the then Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Mr Kapil Sabil.

Mr Malik was chosen as the Businessman of the Year by an esteemed panel of jury comprising of Prof. VS Ramamurthy (Homi Bhabha Chair Professor, Inter-university Accelerator Center, New Delhi ), Dr. Ranganath R. Navalgund (Director, SAC, ISRO, Ahmedabad), Maj Gen Dr. R Sivakumar (CEO, NSDI), Dr. Mukund K Rao (COO, ESRI), Dr Jagadeesh K Math (Vice President-IT Strategy, Reliance Tech) and Brig R C Padhi (Deputy Director General Military Survey).
