Institute of Management Technology (IMT) has joined hands with Australia’s Deakin University for a joint research initiative and student / faculty exchange programme. Institute of Management Technology (IMT), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Australia’s leading University, Deakin University on Thursday, 4th December 2008 in Delhi.
The MoU aims to Improve international understanding, Promote collaborative research, Academic staff cooperation on collaborative research, lectures and conferences in areas of common interest, general academic collaboration including the exchange of educational resource materials and publications that are of mutual interest, assessment of units for advanced standing for academic programs offered at each institution, development and implementation of student exchange programs, staff exchange, identification of special short term academic programs and projects of mutual benefit to both institution and Promote the exchange of faculty for joint teaching and research and Enrich the educational development of both institution.
The agreement of MoU was signed by BS Sahay, director, IMT Ghaziabad, Dr.Anwar Ali, director, IMT Nagpur and Dr. A.M. Sherry, Dean, IMT-CDL & Chairman Joint Admission Committee from IMT and Prof. Sally Walker (Vice Chancellor of Deakin University & Prof. Philip H Clarke Pro.V.C. of Deakin University from Deakin University in the presence of witness, higher authorities and faculty members from both institution.
“The partnership will result in promotion of collaborative research on their respective Management programmes and encouraging and enhancing research programs jointly.” V.C. of Deakin University, Prof. Sally Walker said on this occasion. She said that both institution emphasis on particular quality education. She said, we also published an academic journal jointly.
Director of IMT Ghaziabad, BS Sahay said that this collaboration with opens new avenues and give best learning exposure to the students of both countries. Mr. Sahay said our MoU would be based on KPI (key performance index). Dr. A.M. Sherry, Dean, IMT-CDL & Chairman Joint Admission Committee, says this MoU will be beneficial for more than 50 thousands students of both countries (aprox. 10 thousands students enroll from Deakin University and aprox. 40 thousands students enroll from IMT-CDL).
Faculty of both the institutions have shown keen interest in collaborative research in the field of MBA education and faculty members from both institution will visit each other institution in early of 2009 to explore possible areas of cooperation in Management industry research. The students of IMT and Deakin University visit each other campus for the period of three month.
