Consistent with its higher volume of operations, the Power Finance Corporation’s Profit After Tax increased by 6% to touch Rs.339 crore during the quarter ending Oct.-Dec., 2008 as against Rs.320 crore recorded during the same quarter last year. Operating Income rose by 33% to reach a figure of Rs.1716 crore as against Rs.1292 crore recorded during the same quarter last year.
The disbursements are up by 35% at Rs.4,278 crore in comparison to Rs.3170 crore registered during the same quarter last year.
The major projects sanctioned during the quarter includes; Rs.6512 crore to ‘Koradi Extension TPS’ (of Maharashtra State Power Generation Corporation), Rs.1806 crore to Bellary TPS (of Karnataka Power Corporation) and Rs.1250 crore to RKM Power Generation Pvt. Ltd.
